“Historical descriptions of King Henry VIII refer to his various health conditions and inability to reproduce with more than one of his wives. Now, researchers from Southern Methodist University have uncovered several of the king’s underlying health conditions, which may have influenced his…
Any ‘news’ that suggests Henry VIII had syphilis I cannot and will not take seriously. Because it’s not like the syphilis thing has been disproved for years or anything….

The other day I found out my modules for my second year at uni and I’m very excited. Finally I have the time to go on and on and on as Connor wishes me to.
So here’s my list of modules:
The Tudors 1485 - 1603
The Guardians of Heritage
Thatcher’s Britain
Gender and Society in the 12th Century
Royal Propaganda in England and Wales 1558 - 1685
Perceptions of the Past (A Compulsory module about how we think of History)
So the excitement is high because I got all my first choices and all is well with the world. And the main thing I want to say is TUDORS AGJISKDDFJDIFJDIFCCEGDGS!
Because EEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeee, I get to study the Tudors, actually study it, I can do that, even if I have attendance problems or whatever, I can still totally do that. I won’t even need any more books than I already own =D
The Heritage module will be excellent as Heritage is one of the things that makes Bangor unique, as many History courses don’t offer Heritage as a subject and it’s prefect as that’s the area I want a job in so yay!
Thatcher’s Britain will certainly be interesting, even though I despise her. And it’ll have a lot of politics in it which I shall enjoy.
The Gender in the medieval will be really interesting I think too. Because I used to do Sociology and really liked that, so this will have something of that in it. Plus I can sit there and learn about women and that’s always nice, especially medieval due to how different things were then.
Propaganda. Ooooh how I shall love thee. Tudor and Stuart propaganda. Eeee. I love it, I really do. I’m just far too excited.
Perceptions will probably be reasonably dull in comparison but I don’t think I’ll mind too much with all of these going on.
I think to understand why I’m so excited, it must be understood that I have had some shockingly bad modules this year. The worst being Introduction to Modern History which was taught by awful lecturers and was all Industrial Revolution in Germany and other such thrilling things. Plus I did two Welsh modules. TWO. I learnt about Welsh history, some of it was Wales in the 1200’s when it’s all marcher lords and Llwellyns and such. But yeah, I also missed a lot of lectures due to being ill and all which didn’t help. With me being fixed and all and actually looking forward to these I should have an excellent time next year and I am thrilled.
